Make a comforting meal perfect for a cozy night in, Stuffed Hungarian Peppers with traditional Apple Cake for dessert

A classic comfort food, it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t get excited at the thought of a stuffed pepper.  Fresh peppers stuffed with meat, rice, spices and served with a tasty tomato sauce… These simple ingredients come together to form an incredibly satisfying and heartwarming dish.

While this recipe has Turkish origins, the Hungarians adopted it as their own back in the 16th and 17th centuries and it has been a household staple since. The use of Hungarian yellow peppers or Cubanelles are what make this version distinctly Hungarian. Surprisingly easy to make, your family and friends will be thoroughly impressed and leave with a satisfied grin on their faces.  And moreover - you'll have a grin on your face when you freeze leftovers for a quick weeknight meal to enjoy weeks later.

Complete your private virtual cooking experience with a traditional and popular Hungarian apple cinnamon dessert, Almás Pite. Is it a cake or is it a pie? It’s definitely delicious.  Bring your family together for this deeply satisfying meal and transport your kitchen to Hungary for the day.

Great time with Chef Agnes learning how to cook traditional Hungarian goulash and apple strudel. Great anniversary present for us. Give it a try, you’ll enjoy the time and have some great recipes to keep afterwards!

Jeff Rehling

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband who is an avid cook! He chose Chef Agnes from Hungary! We had a wonderful experience. Agnes is warm individual and great teacher. Throughout our session she shared stories and history. It was truly much more than a cooking lesson! We shared our creations with friends with a Zoom Dinner Party later that night!!!
