Virtually travel to the grand city of Milan in your own kitchen to master their most iconic meal, Osso Buco and Risotto Milanese
Milan, a magnificent city adorned with elegance, beauty and decadence - and its cuisine is no exception. In true Milanese style, their namesake meal is one of the most luxurious you'll eat. Situated in the Lombardy region, a surprise to many, Milan is known for its rich dishes, perfect for chilly Italian winters.
You'll begin your cooking class learning how to master Osso Buco. Wine braised veal shanks will slowly simmer away on the stove dancing with with aromatics until it becomes perfectly tender. While you wait, you'll whip up (literally) the finest accompaniment for your Osso Buco, Risotto Milanese. Legend has it Risotto Milanese originated in the 16th century as a joke when a famous glassmaker, who loved the bright color of saffron, used it in a rice dish and it was a hit. Whether that's true or not, this luxurious risotto is as beautiful as any stained glass we've seen.
Join us on a tour of Milan in this Italian cooking class. Our chefs will video call into your home kitchen live from Italy and together you will make a meal for the ages. Get step by step coaching, share stories and enjoy time together.

Chef Carlotta
Bari, Italy
Michelin star restaurant chef having worked for Michelin restaurants in over 5 cities, graduated top of class from ALMA University
Chef Carlotta Martinelli lives in the south of Italy in the town of Bari. She began cooking at a young age with her nonna and fell in love with the rich traditions of pasta-making on the streets of her historic town. Since then, she graduated top of her class from what's consider the world's most prestigious Italian culinary university - ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine located in Parma, Italy.
This whiz-kid, went on to work for several Michelin Star chefs in Rimini, Padua, Milan, Rome, London - and her native region, Puglia. She was most recently responsible for all seafood at the famed Due Camini. After 4 years of working towards the prized Michelin Star, they won it in 2018.
Carlotta believes food is a passport of which, you can travel the world. She's excited to bring you to her hometown of Bari, Italy in her cooking classes with The Chef & The Dish.

*The base price of most classes is $369 which allows 2 participants in the same kitchen. Each additional person in your kitchen thereafter is an additional $50 USD.
